About Easy Brief

Easy Brief is a news summary service that makes Korean news accessible to everyone around the world.

Want to know what's happening in Korea?
Easy Brief uses AI to summarize major Korean news into 3-line summaries, easy explanations, and glossary terms — all in English. Catch up on Korea in under a minute.

Our Mission

Keeping up with Korean news can be challenging — language barriers, information overload, and complex terminology make it hard to stay informed. Easy Brief was built to solve this.

Our core values:

Accessibility Anyone should be able to understand Korean news
Clarity Complex stories distilled to their essentials
Transparency AI usage and sources are always disclosed
Neutrality Fact-focused summaries without editorial bias

How It Works

Easy Brief's summaries are automatically generated each day through a 5-step process:

  1. 1 News Collection
Articles are gathered from public RSS feeds of major Korean and international outlets (Yonhap News, Chosun, JoongAng, Google News, and more).
  2. 2 3-Layer Deduplication
Duplicate articles are removed through URL matching, title similarity scoring, and database cross-verification — so you see each story only once.
  3. 3 Interest Scoring
AI scores each article's reader interest from 0 to 100, prioritizing stories that are most relevant and engaging to a broad audience.
  4. 4 AI Summarization
Selected articles are processed by Google Gemini AI to generate 3-line summaries, detailed easy explanations (Background, Key Points, Why It Matters, What's Next), and a glossary.
  5. 5 Review & Publish
Summaries are reviewed and published to the service. Content is updated several times a day, and past news is available in the archive.

AI Transparency

We believe in being open about how AI is used in our service:
